logrotate not rotating logs

We can run logrotate manually with logrotate /etc/logrotate.conf where /etc/logrotate.conf is the config file.

Applicable switches are -d and -f with -d being debug mode which is verbose and it's worth noting that in this mode, no actual rotating will be done. -f forces rotation.

There is also a status file, on Debian, this is at /var/lib/logrotate/status and this file contains the logfiles and the date at which they were last rotated.

On Slackware, this is more conventionally located at /var/lib/logrotate.status
