Unable to open or incompatable vdproj solution

When using Visual Studio (recent versions), with vdproj files, you may get an error or warning that the file is incompatible or unable to open.

The migration report when initially opening the project can be seen here

The following resolves;

TOOLS > EXTENSIONS OR EXTENSIONS

MANAGE EXTENSIONS

Search for and install Microsoft Visual Studio Installer Project

[source]

I had trouble recently with a project and on following the above, the project now looked like;

The DLVDU project was the vdproj solution that was giving the warnings previously.

Right clicking on the DLVDU from the Solution Explorer above allows for an install option and following through, installs the package as below;

Now it looks as though DLOper.exe is the last built version of DLOper (I'll confirm another time).

A final issue I had with this project, unrelated to the theme of the post was that the project would not build/run as it reported issues relating to MySql.Data.dll now even though I had installed the MySQL drivers and have been working with them on another project. The solution was to point the dependency to MySql.Data.dll in the installed location above
