Cracking Windows passwords with Ophcrack

A Reminder...

We need two files, SAM and system, both located here:
WINDOWS/system32/config/

Mount that location in Linux or by other method as the files are not available during Windows run time and copy them to your local Linux box.

Get ophcrack from here: https://ophcrack.sourceforge.io/

or on Debian by;

apt install ophcrack

Get some rainbow tables from here: https://ophcrack.sourceforge.io/tables.php

1) Launch Ophcrack and choose Load Encrypted SAM, choose the location where we saved SAM and system.

2) Click Tables and then choose to install the tables downloaded previously.

3)
Click Crack, grab yourself a big'ol mug of Java and enjoy...
